Statements.

statements is for those moments when you just want to say something small, concise, and decided. Maybe you're eating the best canteloupe ever; maybe your girlfriend just dumped you; maybe you've discovered the answer to life, the universe and everything. If it's been written as a single sentence that ends with a period, you can (probably) post it here.

The biggest, most important rule:
Entries must be in the form of a single declarative sentence (ending with a period and no other punctuation). This applies even if your statement is a direct quotation. Comments don't have to follow this rule at all. Comments can be anything, as long as they do not violate Rule #2.

Other rules that are probably good to follow as well:

2. While saying negative things about other people or things is okay, slurring is not. Race, gender, color, orientation, religion, etc. are not acceptable topics or reasons for attack. Drama is tolerated. Solicitations are not.

3. Proper grammar and spelling are nice, but we aren't strict about it.

5. Tell the cool people on your friends list. There can never be too many statements.

6. Don't ask where Rule #4 went. EVER.

7. Lj-cutting may be used at your discretion (for spoilers, boring and/or TMI stuff, whatever you think it's necessary for) but it is important that the post under the cut conforms to the rules, specifically Rule One. The cut does not have to be a statement, but it is nice so the more sensitive members of the comm don't fret about seeing a non-statement on the main page.

We occasionally change the community's title to some random song lyrics. Don't freak out if you see Journey or Raffi or something else as a title. We aren't responsible for the mental damage this causes you. You're welcome to complain, but it won't do any good.
